Teaching kids the respect for the marine environment thanks to Adriatic LNG
This year too Adriatic LNG is sponsoring “ChioggiaVela”, a course that introduces children to sailing and also teaches them to respect and protect the marine environment. The initiative is organized by the Municipality and Pro Loco of Chioggia, together with Chioggia Yacht Club and thanks to the economic contribution of Adriatic LNG, who has always paid special attention to youth educational projects.
The aim of “Chioggia Vela Junior” is getting young students to know the sea and the sailing activity as well as favoring the integration of disabled kids through sport. From May 16, more than 400 kids, aged 8-11, coming form Chioggia’s primary schools, will be involved in training courses where teachers of Chioggia Yacht Club, belonging to Italian Saling Federation, will teach them the basics of sailing.

Before experiencing boat sailing, kids have been taught respect of marine environment and basic information such as winds, points of sailing, maneuvers, rules, boat structure. Useful information for the kids involved in the project who will sail an “Optimist” boat in Lusenzo Lagoon.
Also disabled kids will have the opportunity to experience a safe sailing thanks to Chioggia yacht club’s instructors, the MARAMAO Sailing Team and the help of expert kids.
