2016 Adriatic LNG Circuit: record numbers, big names and two equally placed winners

The 7th edition of Adriatic LNG Circuit - one of the most awaited running competitions in Veneto - ended on Sunday 16 October in Cavarzere. This year too, the sport event broke all the records: 5,500 athletes attended competitive footraces and non competitive walks, for a total of more than 50 sport associations from Veneto and Emilia Romagna regions.

The 2016 edition will be certainly remembered for its gripping final: for the first time ever the male division saw the ex-aequo victory of two athletes, the teammates Michele Bedin and Angelo Marchetta, whereas in the female division, the winner of 2015 Circuit Nadya Chubak confirmed her title by overtaking Viviana Zago for just few points.

Originally created to combine the footraces run in 5 municipalities of Polesine (Porto Viro, Adria, Corbola, Taglio di Po, Loreo) and Cavarzere in the Venetian area, this year Adriatic LNG Circuit added a new round organized in Rovigo to celebrate the memory of Paolo Fantinato, a man who was deeply engaged in the promotion of sport and trained many local champions. This stage was an occasion to admire very famous athletes, such as the Moroccan Iguider Abdalaati, bronze medals in London and Rio Olympic Games, the Kenyan Pauline Eapan and the Italian Olympic athlete Silvia Sommaggio.

The success obtained by this 7th edition confirms once more the winning formula of Adriatic LNG running circuit, a competition which constantly grows and renews itself year by year, able to combine the energy of sport with the promotion of territory.
