Rovigo, January 21st, 2026 – A morning dedicated to safety and the prevention of workplace risks brought together more than 600 high school students from the province today at the Teatro Sociale of Rovigo for the event “Safety First! La sicurezza va in scena” promoted by Adriatic LNG, the company which operates Italy’s main Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) regasification terminal.

The initiative’s key objective was to raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of adopting a conscious approach to safety, both in the workplace and in everyday life. On this occasion, Adriatic LNG also celebrated the completion of the project to increase its terminal’s regasification capacity, carried out with 37,000 working hours with zero incidents thanks to a rigorous culture of safety and prevention.

The project made it possible to increase the terminal’s constant regasification capacity from 9 to 9.5 billion cubic meters per year, with a maximum daily send-out of 28.5 million cubic meters of natural gas. This achievement further strengthens Adriatic LNG’s role in ensuring stability and diversification of Italian energy supply.

The event was attended by numerous local authorities, including the Prefect of Rovigo Franca Tancredi, the Quaestor Eugenio Vomiero, the President of the Province Enrico Ferrarese, and the Mayor of Rovigo Valeria Cittadin, along with representatives of Adriatic LNG shareholders, VTTI and Snam.

Unable to participate due to concurrent institutional commitments, the President of the Veneto Regional Government, Alberto Stefani, sent a message of greetings and appreciation for the initiative, highlighting that “this event represents an important opportunity for reflection and awareness-raising on issues of utmost importance, such as workplace safety and the protection of workers’ health. Investing in safety means recognizing the dignity of individuals and contributing to the growth of the entire economic system”.

During the morning, representatives of the shareholders awarded the project managers with an honorary plaque, acknowledging the excellence of the safety standards adopted throughout all phases of the work.

It has been a special day, allowing us to engage with a young audience on a topic that is fundamental for us: safety”- said Alfredo Balena, External Relations Director at Adriatic LNG. “We wanted to share with the local community the completion of a strategic project for the country, achieved thanks to a holistic approach to safety, which encourages each of us to act with awareness and responsibility. This is a value we are committed to passing on to future generations.”

The event concluded with the theatrical performance “Ricordati di vivere (l’ultima udienza)” written and performed by the company Rossolevante, which has long been engaged in producing works on social issues. The show employed a direct and compelling language, transforming safety from an abstract concept into a concrete experience closely connected to the students’ daily lives.
