6 years of running competitions with Adriatic LNG Circuit

The sixth edition of the Adriatic LNG running circuit ended on Sunday, October 18 in Cavarzere. For the first time, the Venetian city has hosted the final race of the running competition. This edition too, the competition registered record numbers both in terms of athletes’ participation and supporters attending each stage.

The athletes that that took part to the 8 races of the Circuit were 5,000, exceeding last year registrations.

Competitive races registered 2,800 athletes while walking events registered 1,600 people. The kids participating to the event were 600. The youngest athlete was 3 while the oldest one was 86, thus confirming that the Circuit is a sport event able to attract people of all ages.

The 2015 edition can boast international athletes such as the Moroccan Benazzuoz Slimani, winner of the Circuit and his countrymen Omar Choukri, Braihm Taleb, Saaid El Bouhali. Among Italian athletes, prominent name in men category are: Michele Bedin, who won two editions of the Adriatic LNG Circuit and Marco Pettenazzo, a promising national young talent. Women prominent names are: the Ukrainian Nadya Chubak, winner of the Circuit, Daria Legnaro, who last year ranked first and this year second, the Olympic and Italian champion Silvia Sommaggio and road running national athletes Giovanna Ricotta and Giovanna Pizzato. For the firs time in the history of the Circuit Adriatic LNG participated in the running event with its own team. A group of employees of Adriatic LNG took part in the 4th stage that took place during night in Porto Viro.

Under the patronage of the Rovigo Province authority and managed by award winning runner Maurizio Preti, this event was born from the co-operation of Adriatic LNG with 6 municipalities of the Polesine area: Porto Viro, Adria, Corbola, Taglio di Po, Porto Tolle and Loreo – plus the municipality of Cavarzere in the Venetian area.

The Adriatic LNG Circuit proves that, in the name of sport, municipalities of Po Delta work together to draw every year thousands of people, through a positive tourism that is able to combine outdoor sports with discovery of local territory.
